Follow Up; Registrar

I absolutely forgot!  Prabal and I went to the Registrar for the marriage license.  We filled out the paperwork and then Prabal told the man I was divorced.  OMG! I don’t have that paperwork !  I didn’t even know I needed it!  Why can’t they take my word for it?!  I am following the law, I don’t believe in multiple husbands…one at a time will do ;) .   Anyway, I don’t have the paperwork.  That is that. We went home and I immediately looked up the Las Vegas courts in New Mexico and started calling via Skype.  It took me 4 phone calls to finally get to the “records” place and then I was told that I needed to pay for a copy. ” Not a problem, I can give you my credit card number and i can pay for it that way” I said.  “We’re not set up for that” she said.  I am supposed to me married the 2nd of December, it takes about a month for mail, to and from…OMG!  Not only THAT, they don’t have a way to email me the document…BECAUSE THEY AREN’T SET UP FOR THAT EITHER!!!!  NICE! (sarcastic tone).

My only other resort it to call my ex-husband.  Otherwise, it will take forever!  I haven’t talked to Jason in…..FOREVER!  I don’t even have his phone number.  I know he moved to Las Vegas, Nevada and he works for Office Depot.   I looked in the White pages…two Jasons’ there.  Knowing him, he doesn’t have a land line…I think.  So I decide to go for the Office Depot route.  THEY have TEN Office Depot stores in Las Vegas, NV.  TEN!!! I heard he worked at a  new Office Depot, so I started from the largest numbers.  It took me only three tries, and on the third, JACKPOT!  He was even at the store.  At first, it took him a minute to realize who I was.  hehehee…I got a blank reaction..then “Hey! How are you?”  Jason asked…yada, yada.  I then told him I was getting married, and asked him if he “had our divorce papers”…he said “yes”…I asked him if he “would scan them and email them to me”, he said “yes”….

(You know, it’s really strange talking to him.  It’s like we avoided each other and I think he even hid from me once.  WEIRD!  Anyway, it’s just a bit…”starchy” talking to him.  I am going to say “starchy” .  It fits! :P

It has been three days now, so I will call him tonight and follow up.  Wish me luck!

This is getting to be a soap opera habit…and I avoided that trap when in College. Stop keeping us in suspense…did you get the papers. If so, is everything on schedule. If not, what is going on…

Come on…you got us started. Now you have an obligation to keep us up to speed. I have favorite tv programs that I don’t follow this closely…;-)

I had hoped that you would see me laughing between the lines…it was not a “gritting teeth” comment. But you do have a number of us hooked on the progress of everything and we do notice when a gap occurs. But remember that whatever goes on, the term “bad me” does not apply…even just a little bit. We all care for you and like to see that everything goes well. So relax. Its ok to tell us to get off your case, that you are doing everything that you can and don’t need the hassle…and you should probably do that once in a while. Consider it said to myself on your behalf this time.

Oh Tom, I was laughing. I loved it! I just added a bit of drama to my side :D I love your humor and I was trying to play along. I need you to be on my case once in a while, I like it! Keep ‘em coming! That way, I know I am not alone, or boring…well, maybe sometimes. :P Definitely let me know what you think and feel.
